The first specialized SMP maker in Estonia – my journey
When I started my studies in Italy, at the Tricomedica Abbagnato Academy, in 2023, I had no idea that I would become Estonia's first specialist. SMP (scalp micropigmentation)maker. I studied directly under those who are known as pioneers in the SMP world – the brothers Chris and Tony Abbagnato. Tricomedica Abbagnato, in Italy. They were the ones who gave me the in-depth knowledge trichopigmentation about the techniques, details, and work ethic that are crucial in this field.
Started under the name KrSmp
Initially I operated under the name KrSmp, but I quickly realized that people had a hard time pronouncing and remembering it. So a more logical and simpler one was born. Kris SMP, which still speaks better and accurately reflects my work – personal, high-quality and professional scalp micropigmentation.
Further education in the UK – the next step in confidence

In 2018, I flew to the United Kingdom to improve my skills with one of the most renowned artists in Europe today. KRT SMP, whose quality of work had long been an example to me. When I returned from there, I felt that my confidence had grown even more – I was ready to offer an even more precise, even more natural, and even higher quality SMP service here in Estonia, where many people have still not heard of the service.
At the same time, the idea of something bigger began to grow in my head...
Scalp Estonia – a name that encompasses the whole
That's how it happened. Scalp Estonia – a name that is more convenient and broader for the user, fitting into both the service and product universe.
I also created online store, whose original goal was to provide SMP customers with essential maintenance products:
• scalp care products
• head shavers
• products to support hair and scalp health
I wanted bald men and clients with thinning hair to find everything they needed from one place – to make post-SMP care easy, convenient and support pigment persistence. Over the years, the selection has grown and various other products have been added, but the focus has remained the same: scalp, face and hair care.
Over 50 people helped – baldness, thinning hair, transplant scars
I have already helped over 100 people with my work in Estonia. 50 people, whose concerns include:
– thinning hair
– baldness
– failed hair transplants
– hair transplant scars
– uneven hairline
A very big part of my work is actually education – people don't know yet, What is SMP or scalp micropigmentation?, how it works and who it is suitable for. In other parts of the world, there are scalp micropigmentation already a very common and appreciated alternative to hair transplants, wigs, or various ways of hiding baldness.
Is SMP also suitable for beards? Yes!
I am often asked whether micropigmentation is also suitable for beards for sealing or filling holes. The answer is yes. The same technique I use on the scalp is also great for visually thickening the beard area and creating natural density.
