Scalp micropigmentation

What is SMP?

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) in Estonia

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) in Estonia is a natural and effective solution for hair thinning and baldness. It is a scalp micropigmentation or trichopigmentation, which aims to visually restore hair density and hairline.

The goal of the procedure is to mimic a person's existing "hair spots" as closely as possible. The pigment is inserted into the superficial dermis of the skin using a dermograph and special needles.

You can see the work done. from the gallery or from social media!

How long does SMP take?

SMP usually consists of 3-4 sessions, which are carried out over a period of approximately 1-2 months.

For shaved head: There is a 7-10 day gap between the first and second sessions, and about a month between subsequent sessions. For larger jobs (alopecia), sessions can be spread over several days.

Hair gap filling: 3-4 weeks between sessions.

The duration of the session depends largely on the extent of baldness and skin type (on average 3-4 hours). For long hair, the session duration is longer.

Who is SMP suitable for?

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) in Estonia Suitable for both men and women who are experiencing hair thinning, baldness or uneven hair density, SMP is an effective solution for those who want a visually natural and well-groomed appearance without surgical intervention.

  • Pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) – helps restore a visually even and natural hairline
  • Hair thinning – creates the appearance of thicker hair in thinning areas
  • Alopecia areata or totalis – also offers a solution for complete hair loss
  • Improving the result of hair transplantation – fills sparse areas and makes the final result visually denser
  • Scars on the scalp (e.g. hair transplant, surgery, trauma) – helps make scars less noticeable
  • Uneven hairline – corrects symmetry and overall appearance
  • Shaved or very short hairstyle – ideal for those who want a well-groomed and clear „fresh shave“ look

How long does SMP last?

Long-lasting and natural result

Scalp micropigmentation is a permanent procedure. However, depending on the individual, a touch-up (usually only 1 session) should be performed every 2-5 years to refresh the results.

What to know before and after the SMP procedure?

BEFORE THE SESSION
  • Since sessions can be long, sitting in one place and poking around is more enjoyable when you're well rested. It's also easier on the person doing the work than moving around less.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (omega 3).
  • Wash your hair/head beforehand.
  • Shave your hair as short as possible (to 0) the night before the session or the morning of the session. Except in cases of thinning hair.
  • If you have a dry scalp, you may want to use moisturizing creams or masks for a while before the session.
  • NB! The scalp must be healthy to perform the work. Avoid excessive sun exposure (headwear, SPF), work cannot be performed if you have a sunburn.
  • For skin diseases located on the scalp, a course of treatment should be completed before the SMP procedure.
1-4 days
  • Very important: any tissue fluid that may form after the procedure must be carefully dried to prevent crusting.
  • Avoid sweating and excessive exertion on the head (vigorous exercise, excessive heat, wearing a hat)
  • Don't get your head wet.
  • Don't shave your hair.
  • Apply the cream provided by the manufacturer (for shaved heads)
5–7 days
  • You can start by gently washing your scalp with lukewarm water and a natural shampoo.

  • Continue applying the cream recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Light exercise is allowed, but avoid excessive sweating and exertion.

Days 7–14
  • You can continue with your normal training.
  • You can start cutting your hair. with a disinfected shaver.
  • Avoid shaving with a razor until completely healed.
  • Continue to use the recommended aftercare cream.
14 days until complete recovery
  • You can use regular moisturizing creams to restore skin elasticity and keep it properly moisturized.
  • You can start using mattifying creams
NB!

The final recovery of the scalp takes about a month:

  • Use clean pillowcases, especially important in the first few days.
  • Keep your head clean (it's a micro-wound)
  • Avoid sauna for at least 2 weeks.
  • Public bodies of water (swimming pools, sea) – you should avoid soaking your head under water until your scalp heals.
  • Direct sun (UV, solarium) should be avoided for about a month for shaved hair. It is also a good idea to wear a hat or use SPF50+ when exposed to the sun, as this will keep the result fresher for longer and will wear off more slowly.
  • If crusts form, you should not pick them off yourself.

Be sure to consult a doctor if the following conditions occur:

  • Epilepsy

  • Diabetes

  • AIDS

  • Hepatitis

  • Skin diseases located on the scalp.

  • Use of chemotherapy or blood-thinning medications

  • Autoimmune diseases

  • Respiratory diseases

  • Heart or cardiovascular diseases

  • Severe allergies to metals or other things

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before the procedure, the scalp should be healthy and you should avoid consuming alcoholic beverages for a few days before the procedure!

Be sure to inform us about all your chronic diseases, medications you take, and allergies before coming for the procedure!
