1. What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?
Scalp micropigmentation, or SMP, is a cosmetic procedure that involves inserting pigment dots into the scalp to create the illusion of thicker hair or restore the hairline.

2. Who is SMP suitable for?
SMP is suitable for both men and women who have:

thinning hair or baldness (androgenic alopecia),

alopecia areata,
-
the need to hide scars on the scalp (FUT/FUE),

alopecia totalis
SMP gives a natural effect without adding any actual hair.
3. How long does the procedure last and how many sessions are needed?
The duration of the SMP procedure is individual. For smaller jobs (hairline or crown), the session usually lasts 1.5–2 hours, alopecia or a larger area, one session may last up to 6 hours. Sessions also last longer for longer hair, e.g. women's density.
The number of sessions also depends on the desired effect:

In addition, achieving the result is influenced by:, how well the client follows aftercare advice and how well the pigment stays on the client's skin. Usually required 3–4 sessions, to achieve a natural and even result.
4. How natural is the result?
Professionally performed SMP gives a very natural result, creating the impression of a shaved head or thicker hair. The naturalness of the result depends on the experience of the specialist, the use of the right pigments and needles.

5. How long does the result last and is it necessary to refresh?
SMP pigment is permanent, depending on skin type and how it is cared for. Over time, the pigment will fade slightly, requiring a touch-up session. Usually after 3-5 years, depending on the procedure.
6. How much does the SMP procedure cost?
The price depends on how large an area we work on, whether it's a shaved head or long hair, and how many sessions it takes.

7. Is SMP painful and how long is the recovery?
Most clients describe the procedure as a “moderate” stinging sensation (nothing unbearable). The longer the session, the more uncomfortable the stinging can become, precisely because you have to stay in one place for a long time. There are clients who fall asleep during the procedure. Recovery is quick – in most cases, you can resume your daily activities immediately, with some restrictions. Read about aftercare HERE
8. What products should I use to care for my scalp to keep my SMP fresher longer?

Special shampoos and creams – to maintain a neutral pH environment, preventing the scalp from drying out and becoming excessively oily.

Use a hat or SPF products – UV radiation from the sun damages the scalp (pigment spots, skin burns, skin aging) and dulls the pigment.

Head shavers – shaving with a close razor irritates and damages the scalp excessively. A head shaver is more comfortable and faster, and causes less irritation.

Mattifying creams – eliminate light reflection from the top of the head and make the result even more realistic.
- Scrubbers – It's good to exfoliate your scalp from time to time for deeper cleansing.

9. Does SMP damage hair?
No. SMP is a superficial scalp procedure and does not damage existing hair or hair roots. The pigment is applied to the superficial dermis of the skin and the hair remains intact.
10. Can SMP be done after hair transplantation?
Yes, SMP is often performed after hair transplantation to achieve a more even/thicker result or to hide scars. However, it should be noted that the procedure should be timed so that the transplanted hair has healed properly and the scalp has recovered. It is advisable to consult with the doctor who performed the transplant to choose the right time. At least 1 year must have passed since the hair transplantation!
11. Is it possible to make test spots?
Yes, we can do test spots in a way that they remain unnoticeable and you can see what the spots will look like on you.
12. Can I pay in installments?
Yes, it is possible to pay for the sessions separately. It is also possible to pay for the SMP procedure using ESTO payment solutions.
